Indonesia Tatler ‘Fashion Hall of Fame’ dazzles Jakarta society
Annual style event sees contemporary designs with a local twist
Jakarta, June 18, 2012— Indonesia’s premier high-society publisher and events organizer, Mobiliari Group, held its annual style extravaganza, “Fashion Hall of Fame 2012,” on Thursday June 14. The star-studded event drew some more than 300 well-heeled attendees, surpassing even the organizer’s expectations.
Mobiliari Group publishes the country’s brand-leading socialite magazine Indonesia Tatler, as well as Indonesia’s Best Restaurant Guide, Cosmetic Surgery and Beauty and other high-profile titles.
Fashion Hall of Fame is its annual tribute to women and fashion, and this year saw the cream of Indonesia’s fashionistas named for their style statements, with the tagline “Strengthening Indonesian Heritage Fashion”.
Annisa Yudhoyono, Atilah Soeryadjaya, Jessie Setiono and Sendy Yusuf—all of whom attended the event—were all named as recipients of the prestigious honour this year. Attendees also included Minister for State Owned Enterprises, Dahlan Iskan, renowned designer Ted Sulisto, and various ambassadors.
Said Ibu Maria Lukito, Bureau Chief for Indonesia Tatler: “With this event, we saw the best of contemporary fashion with a tantalizing Indonesian twist. The heritage nuances found in these fashion statements strengthen the country’s burgeoning fashion industry among our readers and friends.”
On the night, guests were given a red-carpet reception and then treated to a live painting by design legend Agnes Budhisurya as models paraded her latest collections on stage. After a rousing performance by Oeblet Music Orchestra, the evening was rounded off by a sensational fashion show from Oscar Lawalata.
The Fashion Hall of Fame was presented in association with Permata Bank and co-sponsored by Djarum Apresiasi Budaya and the Shangri-La Hotel.
