November is always a special month for Indonesia Tatler since it marks our anniversary: we’re 16 this year! As such, we’ve put together a bumper issue for you this month—more than 200 pages of society faces, news, views, dazzling fashion, tempting travel destinations, delicious dining reviews and more.

This month, the magnificent Mesty Ariotedjo graces our cover along with a pachyderm pal—and we couldn’t resist tying the two together by referring to Mesty’s “mammoth” achievements: as a doctor, as a charity supporter and as a classical musician. Mesty is everything today’s woman aspires to be—a high-level achiever with a huge heart and stunning style.

Speaking of style, we have some 40 pages of fashion this issue—can it get any better than that? We delve into some of the latest collections of the world’s biggest brands, and we also get under the skin of some of the world’s best beauty products, with tips and tricks; secrets and solutions. We also ask some of our favourite “furry friend” socialites about what they think of their owners and how they first met. Cute isn’t the word!

The winter time is also a time when many of you travel or plan your next year’s vacations, so this issue we have a veritable travel treasure trove of destinations. Looking to travel domestically? We look at recent developments in Labuan Bajo, West Nusa Tenggara. Looking for something sparkly in Asia? We look at what the Hong Kong Peninsula hotel has to offer. Looking for something way off the beaten track? We take a tango trip all the way to Buenos Aires. We also cover Bali, Germany and more… Didn’t I say this is a bumper issue?

Food is also always on our minds, and this month, we focus on the newly opened Sea Grain Restaurant & Bar at Doubletree by Hilton Jakarta, which is located slap-bang in the middle of Jakarta’s central business district, as well as Plaza Indonesia’s very own La Moda, which is now offering a lovely Sunday High Tea menu. In addition, Japanese Chef Naoto Kishimoto recently took time out of running his Michelin starred restaurant to create a one-of-a-kind four course menu for diners in Jakarta. We have the scoop.

And to end on a rather sad note, we have to pass on our condolences to our colleagues and friends at Thailand Tatler, as well as to all our friends in the Land of Smiles and to Thai people everywhere. As Indonesia Tatler went to press we learned that His Majesty King Bhumipol Adulyadej has passed away after more than 70 years on the throne. His Majesty was dearly beloved by all Thais thanks to his dedication to his people, his country and to humanity in general. He will be sadly missed and we pass on our profound sympathy for our Thai friends.

Anyway, do enjoy our big November issue. Next up: Christmas and then 2017! Where does the time go? Happy reading.
to our readers
