Indonesia Tatler December 2016

8 December, 2016

IT Cover Dec'16-OKML.inddWelcome to December: has it really been a year since last Christmas and New Year? Time sure does fly when you’re having fun, so make your New Year’s resolution to seize the day! Meanwhile, do enjoy this last issue of 2016, a year that has seen some sad departures and some riveting news, as well as a lot happening in the wonderful world of Indonesia Tatler.

In this last issue of the year, we present to you, as our cover girl, the lovely, charming, talented (need I add more?) Shalvynne Chang. This fascinating lady really defines the cliché: she’s so much more than a very pretty face. She is also determined to make her mark in the important world of early childhood education, and she has a burning passion for travel. Read on to find out more about this most exquisite of ladies.

Elsewhere, given that we know our readers love their food as much as their lives, we sit down at Jakarta’s newest outlet of Singapore’s renowned Wee Nam Kee Chicken Rice, which presents authentic Hainanese cuisine for all your lucky readers. The story just goes to prove that simple can be very effective when it comes to pleasing palates. We also get a taste of the menu at Alila Villas Uluwatu, which, through its “Chef’s Table”, offers guests masterful creations using the freshest seasonal ingredients and local produce. Tummies rumbling yet?

As well as Christmas and New Year’s Eve, December also brings us to Hari Ibu—Indonesia’s very own Mother’s Day. So as a salute to mums nationwide, we talk to three wonder women, who show that you really can have it all—and have loving, caring and sharing families, too.

And as always, this issue of Indonesia Tatler is packed with fashion, style, timepieces, beauty tips and tricks, and everything to make your life fabulous. Overall, we’ve had a great year capped off by the Indonesia Tatler Ball 2016, the highlights of which you’ll find here. Other than that, it only remains for me to say: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. And remember: carpe diem!
