Indonesia Tatler October 2015
Gracing our cover this October is Indonesia’s “queen of anti-aging”, Dr Deby Vinski. Deby is the President of World Council for Preventive, Regenerative and Antiaging medicine, based out of Paris, and will soon open a 10-storey anti-aging centre in Jakarta. What makes this story interesting for us is that her mission does not merely focus on beauty and aesthetics. It also places a strong emphasis on the prevention and cure of degenerative diseases, as well as strokes, diabetes and other ailments, through anti-aging treatments and hormone therapy.
With her new anti-aging centre, Deby aims to create awareness about the importance of preventive action rather than post-trauma treatment in order to maintain wellness and health, and to ensure that beauty shines from within. Read about Deby’s vision for a healthier society on page 132.
On a related note, we also share the story of the legendary yoga instructor Tara Stiles, which can be found on page 50. Her unique style is called Strala Yoga, and, she claims, it produces physical results and mental improvements more quickly than any other type of yoga. Don’t believe us? Head to the W Retreat & Spa Seminyak Bali next time Tara’s in town.
In our Faces section this month, we talk to the General Manager of Turkish Airlines, Mehmet Faruk Gurulkan, who shares his vision and mission to maintain strong relations between Indonesia and Turkey, and to boost tourism in both countries. On the culinary side, Dita Soedarjo and one of her best friends visit the contemporary Japanese restaurant Fukuro, located at the Fairground SCBD Jakarta, to savour multi-layered Japanese flavours. We also bring you our usual selection of style-packed pages plus essential health and beauty features to keep you young and beautiful, both inside and out. Enjoy reading and stay young at heart!
