Indonesia Tatler August 2017

Indonesia Tatler August 2017

8 August, 2017

This issue is something of a celebration of all things Indonesia, falling as it does with the same month as our Independence Day. As such, we’ve rounded up more than the usual selection of local news and happenings sure to keep you busy and out and about in the month of August.

Elsewhere in this edition celebrating all things Indonesian is news of the upcoming ART STAGE Jakarta, which will be held at the Sheraton Grand Jakarta Gandaria City hotel from August 11-13 (although some programmes start on August 7 so keep your eyes peeled and check out Indonesia Tatler online for more information).

This celebration of homegrown art talent is into its second successful year and returns in 2017 with packs of programmes, mini-events even more art!

Expanding to include some 60 local artists compared with last year’s 50, this year’s ART STAGE Jakarta will also include the inaugural Indonesian Award for Authenticity, Leadership, Excellence, Quality, Seriousness in Art. The award was initiated by prolific collector Alex Tedja, and has been conceptualised and organised by ART STAGE Jakarta.

The award recognises the best of the best across the archipelago, highlighting creativity, passion, commitment, ideas and concepts of the Indonesian art world.

If art is a feast for the eyes, we have a very literal feast for you with a dining experience that reflects the rich history and culture of this great country: the renowned Tugu Kunstkring Paleis. Located in a leafy suburb in Menteng, this local legend boasts a menu that simply bursting with tradition, as our special guests, Amyrna Pohan and Selly Wilson, find out.

As always, this August issue is also jam-packed with beauty tips and tricks, with our cover girl this month, Pinz Wijaya, spilling the secrets about her Jakarta clinic De’Eleriz as well her own beauty advice. We also bring you bang up to date with the best social news, profiles, and more than a literary tipple or two with a focus on legendary whisky and champagne brands.

All in all, it’s a tempting treat for all our readers and we hope you enjoy digesting it all. Happy reading!
